Jungle pathing fundamentals

2026-08-15

Jungle is the role most tied to tempo. A good path does not just clear camps fast — it puts you on the map when lanes are vulnerable.

Full clear before first gank

Most junglers hit level 3 or 4 after a full clear. Ganking before that only works when the lane is already overextended and you have a clear kill condition. Otherwise you waste time and let the enemy jungler farm ahead.

Mirror the enemy jungler

If the enemy starts on their blue side and full clears toward their red, they will end top side. That means bot lane is safer and top lane is at risk. Path to the opposite side of the map or counter-gank rather than matching them camp for camp.

Gank for objectives, not kills

A successful gank should lead to dragon, Rift Herald, or tower plates. If you get a kill and walk away, the enemy trades it back with farm. inflect.gg tracks jungle pathing and objective posture so you can see whether your ganks created real map pressure.
